Richard K. Nielsen, Sr. of Enfield passed onto eternal rest at the age of 73 on Monday (March 18, 2013) at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA. Richard was the beloved husband of 52 years to Evelyn H. (Lewie) Nielsen and son of Margaret (Robinson) Nielsen and the late Karl Nielsen. He was born on Oct. 13, 1939 in Manchester, CT and had resided in Bolton for 31years and in Enfield for the past 10 years. Richard owned & managed Nielsen Auto Parts in Manchester for 15 years and then was owner and manager of Bourgoin Motor Inn in Schuylerville, New York for 8 years before retiring. Richard enjoyed racing and was a fan of TSU Racing and NASCAR. Along with his wife Evelyn and his mother Margaret Richard is also survived by his son, Richard K. Nielsen, Jr. & wife Patricia of Willington, his two daughters, Katherine Cusson & husband Donald of Ellington and Deborah Rucci of Enfield, his six beloved grandchildren, Jessie, Jamie, Jenna, Jordan, John and Michael. He is also survived by a brother, Donald Nielsen & wife Joyce of Bolton and a sister, Joanne Warren & husband Bruce of Framingham, MA. Services will be private at the convenience of his family. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
