Richard Boivin Obituary

Richard E. Boivin, 76, of Enfield entered peacefully into eternal life on Wed. Jan. 5, 2005 surrounded by loved ones at home. Richard was the beloved husband of 44 years to Sheila (Moore) Boivin. He was born in Meriden, CT March 14, 1928 the son of the late Edmond and Pauline (Senez) Boivin, and had resided in Enfield for the past 42 years. Richard served his country honorably with the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired in 1990 after 15 years of service with Accessory Control, Windsor and prior to that with Hamilton Standard, Windsor Locks for 19 years. Richard was a member of St. Patrick Church and served as an usher for 15 years, a member of the DAV and former member of the American Legion Stafford, CT.
Besides his wife Sheila, Richard is survived by his loving family; a son, Ronald Boivin and his wife, Tammy of Charlestown, NH, a daughter, Debra Boya and her husband, Daniel of Coventry, a daughter, Michelle DeLuco and her husband Joseph of Coventry, five beloved grandchildren, Krystal, Tanya, & Christopher Boivin, Abigail Boya and Dylan DeLuco, he also leaves his two brothers and two sisters; Gerard Boivin of Canada, George Boivin of Stafford, Cecile Doren of Canada, and Joyce Dwyer of California along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, Marcel Boivin.
Funeral services in celebration of Richard's life will be held on Monday Jan. 10, 2005 with a Memorial Mass at 11:30 am in St. Patrick's Church corner of Pearl & High Streets in the Thompsonville Section of Enfield followed by Committal services in the Massachusetts Memorial VA Cemetery, Agawam, MA. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society 538 Preston Ave. P.O.
