Richard A Ramsey 88 entered into eternal life on Saturday July 31, 2010 at Evergreen Healthcare in Stafford. Richard was born in Stafford Springs on July 18, 1922 the son of the late Arthur and Athimise ( Cormier ) Ramsey. He had resided in Enfield for a short time and was a resident of Somers most of his life. Richard was a member of All Saints Church in Somersville and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Somers Council. He enjoyed woodworking and loved animals. As a young man Richard was an avid hockey player. He served his country honorably with the United States Army during WW II. Richard was formerly employed by the former Somers Manufacturing and later owned and operated Ramsey Landscaping in Somers for many years. He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty six years Mary (Distazio) Ramsey. He also leaves his loving daughter Cherie A Ramsey of South Windsor Ct. and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters Evelyn Miller, and Beatrice Smyth, and two brothers Edward and George Ramsey. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 4th, at 11:00 am From Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield Ct. Calling hours at Browne Chapels are Wednesday 9:30am to 11:00am. Burial will be with military honors in Somers Center Cemetery Somers. Memorials may be made to Leukemia Society Ct Chapter 300 Research Parkway Meriden Ct 06450-7137
