Obituary
Richard “Rich” E. Hudson, of Windsor Locks, passed from his earthly journey at the age of 59 on Friday September 23, 2011. He was born on May 2, 1952 in Madison, New York, the son of Mildred R. (Jones) Hudson Woods and the late Raymond J. Hudson. Rich resided most of his life in Enfield and the past 10 years in Windsor Locks. He was a self-employed mason having owned and operated his own business for many years in the local area. He was an antique car and Harley Davidson enthusiast, a Kung Fu instructor (Hung Gar), he enjoyed Taekwondo and Iaido (study of Samurai sword), scuba diving, weight lifting, traveling and bicycling. He was a Friend of Bill W. He is survived by his son Adrian Hudson of Windsor Locks, his mother Mildred Woods of Enfield, his siblings; Raymond Hudson of West Springfield, MA, Susan Wadlegger of Springfield, MA, Jolie Matthews of Windsor Locks, Charles Woods and William Woods of both of Enfield, his nephew Mark Hudson of West Springfield, MA, who worked for Rich for many years, along with many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Friday (September 30, 2011) from 5:00 to 8:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Enfield Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
