Richard Schollard Enfield, Connecticut Obituary

Richard Schollard

Richard J. Schollard, 81, of Enfield went home to God on Saturday April 24, 2010 at his Enfield home of 54 years. Born in Worcester, MA on March 8, 1929, he attended area schools and St. Anselm College prior to four years of honorable and faithful service with the U.S. Navy. Subsequently, he was an employee of United Technologies until his 1994 retirement. He enjoyed literature, vigorous walks with his dogs, and was a life-long student and ardent listener of jazz music. The true love of his life, however, was his predeceased wife Louise, whom he has now “met in Pontresina” for a final, eternal time. Richard leaves, to cherish fond memories, his loving family; he is survived by a daughter Joan Schollard of Enfield, a son, Richard Schollard and his wife Liz, of Green Cove Springs, FL, a daughter Janice Stock of Tropic, UT, a daughter Jill Kronstedt and her husband, Peter of Jupiter, FL, a daughter Cynthia Whiting and her husband Dan of Portsmouth, VA, and a daughter Lynn Beaudoin and her husband, Stephen of Sturbridge, MA, his sister, Ann Harrison and sister, Margaret Pervier, and eleven beloved grandchildren and two great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to Louise, his beloved wife of 53 years, he was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, William, and George Schollard, and three sisters, Elizabeth Seymour, Martha and Eleanor Schollard. In lieu of memorial donations, anyone so inclined, is asked to pray for the repose of Richard’s soul. He was a parishioner of both Holy Family Church and the Church of St. Saint Adalbert. There will be no calling hours per Richard’s request. A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Thursday April 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield. Burial will be at the convenience of his family.
