Robert Masamery Obituary

Robert "Bob" T. Masamery, 73, of Enfield, beloved husband of Rose (Regan) Masamery, whose earthly journey ended on Saturday November 29, 2008 with his loving family and dear friends at his side after a brief illness. He was born on August 3, 1935 in Somerville, MA the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Mehigan) Masamery and had resided in Enfield for the past 32 years. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University, Michigan. Bob served his country honorably with the U.S. Army. He worked for the Raytheon Co. in Waltham, MA for 10 years where he was instrumental in the Apollo Eleven Project and then was employed by Digital Equipment Corp. for 18 years. After retiring in 1991 Bob worked for 10 years with his buddy and best friend, Ed Dubanoski driving a school bus for Smyth Bus Co. until June 2008. His life revolved around his family especially the grandchildren and attending their sports events, he coached hockey for many years, enjoyed cooking and served on the Oversight Committee for the Thompsonville Fire Dept. A devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather he leaves many cherished memories for his family to remember. Besides his wife, Rose of 45 years he also leaves his son, Gary & his wife Bonnie and their children, Julianna & Brendan, his daughter, Kim Dubanoski her husband, Scott and their children, Erika & Allie, his son, Scot & his wife, Julie and their children Lauren, Patrick & Lindsay all of Somers. His family would like to especially thank staff at Hartford Hospital for the exceptional and wonderful care given to Bob and their comforting support.
Funeral services for Bob will be held on Wednesday December 3, 2008 with the funeral procession forming at 9 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield to St. Adalbert's Church for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will take place in St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Enfield. His family will receive friends on Tuesday December 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels.
