Robert J. Suizdak, 56 of Enfield, loving lifetime partner of 25 years to Gloria A. Smole entered peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009. Bob was born Dec. 31, 1952 in Hartford, CT the son of the late Phyllis Suizdak Rice and the late Stanley Suizdak. Bob grew up in Enfield, graduating from Enfield High and continued his education at Manchester Community College. Bob was employed by Finast, the Town of Manchester, Factory Insurance of Hartford, ABB Combustion Engineering, and then became self-employed as a Computer Consultant. He was a member of the Enfield Police Explorers, Past President of the Enfield Jaycees, and on the Board of Directors of the East Windsor Sportsman's Club. Bob & Gloria's love of the water drew them to vacation on Cape Cod regularly where they enjoyed the serenity of the ocean and thrift shop hopping. Bob also enjoyed gardening where he would rototill and Gloria would plant. He would experiment with different types of heirloom and cherry tomatoes. He enjoyed cooking and among his favorite dishes were spaghetti sauce, chili ("not too spicy, Uncle Bob"), stuffed cabbage, beef jerky, canning tomatoes, pickles, and relishes. He loved working on and taking great care of his cars including his 1965 Mustang Coupe, 1966 Chevy Impala, 1966 Ford Pickup, and 1987 Ford Crown Victoria. Bob is survived by three sisters Sue Santanella & her husband Paul of Enfield, Mary Hayes & her husband Bill of Gray Court, SC, Cindy Ferreira & her husband Manny of Springfield, MA, two brothers; Mike Suizdak and his wife Becky of East Taunton, MA, and John Suizdak of Enfield. He leaves 11 loving nieces and nephews, 17 grand nieces and nephews, many cousins especially his dear cousin Sister Joan Marie. Bob is also survived by; Gloria's dad, Frank Smole, Ken Smole & Jane Conway of Mill Valley, CA, a special friend Rollande and her cocker spaniel Denise who spent Sundays with Bob & Gloria and brought such joy and giggles. Bob's family particularly enjoyed his infectious laughter. Bob's family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff at Johnson Memorial Hospital for the special care they gave Bob. Services for Bob are being handled by Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd Enfield. Visitation for Bob will be Tuesday (Dec. 29, 2009) from 4-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:00 in Holy Family Church with Father Francis Kerwan officiating, funeral procession will form 9:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery.
