Robert G. Webster 79 entered into eternal peace on Wednesday December 24, 2008 at home in Springfield Ma. Bob was born in Detroit Michigan Sept 30, 1929 the son of the late Paul Amos Webster and Ruth Marie (Pollard) Webster, he resided in Enfield for fifteen years and was a resident of Brunswick Ga. from 1972 to 1992, moving to Smyrna, TN. He most recently made his home with his family in Springfield MA. Robert served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was called home from Korea for a family emergency to care for his father after a hunting accident. The day after he left Korea his entire platoon was killed in the war. He was a former volunteer member of the Enfield Fire Department until 1972. Robert was employed by Phillips Petroleum for twenty eight years, and later by Nissan –Whelan Security for ten years. Bob is survived by his beloved family his former wife of twenty six years Nancy Ann Wohlgemuth , his daughter and son in-law Kathryn and Wayne Thompson of Springfield Ma., a daughter Sherryl Hale of Hortense Ga., a son Lowell Robert Webster of Taylor TX., a son and daughter in-law Paul and Kim Webster of Royal Palm Beach Fl., a son Russell Garrett Webster of Springfield Ma., and a daughter and son in-law Robin and Mark Wilson of Berea Ky., Robert also leaves a sister Paula Veach of Poplar Bluff Mo., a sister and brother in-law Suzanne and Mark Katic of Brentwood Tn., and a brother and sister in-law Richard and Hilda Webster of Poplar Bluff Mo., fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents Robert was predeceased by a son Ronald Gary Webster. Robert's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday December 28th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at BROWNE MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPELS 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield CT. A Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 4:00PM.Burial will be at a later date in Piggott Ark. Memorials in Robert's memory may be made to the Newington Veterans Hospital 555 Willard Ave. Newington CT. 06111
