Ronald “Ron “ J. Gledich, 84, of Broad Brook, entered into eternal life on Thursday April 10, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Dorothy K. (Kuktis) Gledich. Ronald was born on Dec. 11, 1929 in Hartford, CT the son of the late Joseph and Barbara (Mikan) Gledich and had resided in Broad Brook most of his life. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran having served during the Korean War. Prior to retiring in 1992 Ronald was employed for over 40 years with Curtis 1000 in West Hartford, CT. He was a member of St. Catherine Church, Broad Brook and Metacon Gun Club in Simsbury, CT. Ron was an avid UCONN Huskies Women’s Basketball and Red Sox fan. Besides his wife Dorothy, he is also survived by his two daughters Lori Lane & husband Edward of Broad Brook and Lisa Gledich of E. Windsor, his cherished and special granddaughter Caitlin Lane, his aunt Betty Rigoletti and sister-in-law Mary Gledich. Along with his parents Ron was predeceased by a brother Joseph Gledich. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Sunday April 13, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday April 14 with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 a.m. to St. Catherine Church, 4 Windsorville Rd. Broad Brook for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Lung Assoc. of CT, 45 Ash St. E.
