Roy Smith

Roy B. Smith, 83, of Enfield, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday (Nov. 21, 2014) at his daughter’s home in Enfield. He was the beloved husband of 56 years to the late Maria Rose (Fede) Smith. Roy was born on Nov. 23, 1930 in Chicopee, MA, a son of the late Wilfred and Charlotte (Povey) Smith and had resided in Enfield for over 60 years. He served his country proudly with the US Army during the Korean War. Prior to retiring many years ago Roy was employed as a truck driver for over 50 years with Precision Products, Chicopee, MA. In his leisure time he enjoyed trips to the casinos to play Black Jack and was an avid Red Sox fan. Roy is survived by a son, Bruce Smith and his wife, Linda, a daughter, Karen Lampron and her husband, Ray, and a daughter, Diane Stelmat all of Enfield, his seven beloved grandchildren; Paul Smith, Kimberly Smith Raymond Lampron, Tanya Lampron, Melissa Lampron & Larry, Heather & Brian Hope and Jason & Jamie Stelmat, his great grandchildren, Christian & Chloe, Kailyn & Carter, Megan & Cameron, Shane, Patrick & Nicholis. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Bart Fede, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters. His family would especially like to thank Nikki and Jennifer for their compassionate and exceptional care. Relative and friends are invited to gather on Saturday (Nov. 29, 2014) from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, Burial with military honors will then take place in the Thompsonville Cemetery in Enfield. Memorial donations may be made to the Enfield Adult Day Center, 1-A Beech Rd. Enfield, CT 06082.
