Ruth Flynn

Ruth (Malley) Flynn, of Farmington and formerly of East Windsor & Enfield, entered into eternal life on Sunday (Feb. 19, 2012) in the arms of her sons and surrounded by her loving family at the home of her son Gary in Farmington. She was the widow of Louis W. Flynn (1974) and daughter of the late Patrick T. and Della (Fitzgerald) Malley. Ruth was born on Jan. 9, 1919 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield and was educated in Enfield attending St. Joseph’s Elementary School, graduated from Enfield High School and received her teaching degree from Central Connecticut State University. She had resided in East Windsor for 70 years and in Enfield prior to that. Ruth was an educator for over 30 years having been employed by the East Windsor & Windsor Locks Boards of Education for many years. After her retirement from teaching Ruth was actively associated with the Warehouse Point Library Association. She had also been employed by the former Connecticut Band & Trust Co. She enjoyed being around people, books and reading, but most of all she treasured spending time with her family. A loving and caring mother and grandmother she is survived by her two sons; Gary F. Flynn and Felicia DeDominicis of Farmington and Louis W. Flynn of East Windsor, her beloved grandchildren; Francesca and Michaela Flynn of Farmington, along with many nieces, nephews and her good friends; Enzo & Francia DeDominicis. She was predeceased by her two sisters; Dorothy C. Malley, Eileen R. Malley and a brother; Thomas P. Malley. Her family would especially like to thank Dr. Jarred Post for the kind and compassionate care given to Ruth. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Ruth’s life will be held on Monday (February 27, 2012) at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Enfield. Burial will follow in the Springdale Cemetery, East Windsor. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Library Association of Warehouse Point, 107 Main St. East Windsor, CT 06088.
