Samuel Barone

Samuel C. Barone, of Enfield, beloved husband of the late Maria (Columbo) Barone, entered into eternal life at the age of 90 on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Evergreen Healthcare in Stafford Springs. Born in the Thompsonville section of Enfield on March 22, 1922, Samuel was the son of the late Cologero and Angelina (Brancato) Barone. He has been a lifelong resident of Enfield and a former communicant of St. Patrick Church. He proudly served his country during WW II with the United States Army and Marine Corps and was the recipient of numerous military commendations and medals. Sam is survived by his loving daughters, Luana Barone and her husband, Afonso Conceicao of Enfield, and Suzanne Swan of Windsor; three grandchildren, Justin Swan, Michael Conceicao and Vanessa Conceicao; his two brothers, Joseph “Pepe” Barone and John Barone, both of Enfield; his sisters, Josephine Spazzarini of Enfield and Anna Rodrigue of Windsor Locks; and many nephews and nieces. Sam was predeceased by his brother, Charles Barone and two sisters, Marion Drago and Angelina Tyskewicz. Family and friends may attend the Liturgy of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 64 Pearl Street, Enfield, CT 06082. (Please meet directly at church.) Burial with Military Honors will be held at Enfield Street Cemetery. At the request of the family, there are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 52, 9 Madison Road, Enfield, CT 06082. Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels has been entrusted with the arrangements.
