Sandra M. (Palma) Galvin 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11th 2019 at Evergreen Health Care Center in Stafford Springs, CT after a courageous battle with lung cancer, surrounded by her family. Born in Hartford, CT on April 9, 1948 to the Late Francis and Jeanette (Cote) Palma, she was a long time resident of both Hartford, CT and Newport News, VA. She was a graduate of Weaver High School in Hartford, CT. Sandra was predeceased by her beloved husband, William F. Galvin in 2012. Her greatest joy was spending time with Willie on bike rides, cross stitching and watching football games together on Sunday afternoons. Both Sandy and Willie were very active in the community in Newport News, VA, and had many friends there that they supported and spent time with. Sandy was also predeceased by her beloved sister, Catherine M. Palma, and leaves behind her 3 brothers and their spouses, Francis (Suzanne) Palma, Steve (Vicki) Palma and John (Genevieve) Palma. She is survived by her daughter Beth Chase and son-in-law Kenneth of Somers, CT and her daughter Pamela Bonin of Montrose, CO, along with grandsons Christopher and Kevin Chase, and her beloved nieces and nephews, Christine, Deborah, Fran, Shaun, Michele, Melissa and Megan and many other relatives and friends. There are no calling hours and funeral arrangements and burial are private. Browne Funeral Home of Enfield, CT is in charge of the arrangements. A very special thank you to the caring staff at Evergreen Health Care Center, especially Erin and Riz, and the Athena Hospice Team, especially Callay and Jen, your compassionate care was exceptional and deeply appreciated.
