ENFIELD – Sante Isopo, Sr., 90, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 in Johnson Memorial Hospital. Born in Fontechiari, Province of Frosinone, Lazio, Italy, he came to the United States in 1947 and lived in Enfield since 1955. Sante retired from Macy’s after twenty-five years and previously worked for the former G. Fox. He was a marine veteran of the Korean conflict attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He served aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Coral Sea. Sante was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Washington Irving Council # 50, a member of the Elks, the AmVets, the Rinaldi-Fede Italian American Veterans Post 17, the John Maciolek Post 154 American Legion,and a communicant of Holy Family Church. He also loved vegetable gardening, was an avid Yankees and Giants fan, and was an award-winning wine maker. He leaves his wife of sixty-five years, Mary Bianchi Isopo, two sons, Sante Isopo, Jr., and his partner Wendy Mancini and Gino Isopo and his partner Amy Williams all of Enfield, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Julio Isopo. Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 9:30am at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Road, followed by burial with military honors in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery.
