Shirley P. (Henderson) Savage, 80 of Enfield, CT entered peacefully into eternal life on Friday May 4, 2007 at St. Joseph's Residence, Enfield. Shirley was the widow of Leon C. Savage (9/11/85). She was born on Sept. 15, 1926 in Middletown, CT a daughter of the late Frederick and Dorothy (Cooper) Henderson she had resided in Enfield for the past 5 years and in Chicopee & Holyoke, MA prior to that. Shirley devoted her life to her family, as a loving & caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by; a son, Raymond Savage & his wife, Noreen of N. Dakota, a daughter, Grace Ledwith & her husband, Gerry of Bangor ME, a son, Bob Savage & his wife, Linda of W. Hampton, MA, a son, David Savage & his wife, Lisa of Enfield, CT, her 9 beloved grandchildren, Chuck, Paul, Jason, Todd, Paula, Bob, Kathy, Erika and Laura and her 7 loving great grandchildren. She is also survived by her 7 sibling; Barbara Cornellis of Middletown, CT, Mildred Painter of Saybrook, CT, Helen Grandon of Enfield, CT, June Broughal of E. Windsor, CT, Dorothy Davis of Killingworth, CT, Ann Aple of Kissimmee, FL, and Daniel Moran of East Hartford, CT along with many nieces and nephews. Shirley was also predeceased by a brother, Andrew Henderson.
Funeral services in celebration of Shirley's life will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday May 8, 2007 at St. Joseph's Residence. Interment will follow in the Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley, MA. Shirley's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday May 7, from 5 to 8pm at St. Joseph's Residence/Little Sister's of the Poor. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Little Sister's of the Poor/St. Joseph's Residence 1365 Enfield Street Enfield, CT 06082.
