Sophie A. (Ligenza) Shea, 90, of Enfield entered into eternal peace, surrounded by her beloved family and loving caregiver Vicki, at home Thursday June 15, 2006. A life long resident of Enfield, she was the daughter of the late John and Amelia (Waraksa) Ligenza. Sophie was employed for 25 years by Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co. of Thompsonville and then with Cigna Insurance of Bloomfield retiring in 1988 after 25 years of service. She loved to read, sew and was a volunteer at the Enfield Senior Center and St. Joseph Residence. Sophie was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Kathleen Burns of Enfield, grandchildren John F. and Brenda A. Burns and her great grandchildren Danielle and Samantha Burns. Sophie also leaves her brother Raymond Ligenza of Cheshire, sister, Stacia Zawada of Enfield and her sister-in-law Bertha Ligenza. She was predeceased by her brothers Walter and Sigmund. Funeral services for Sophie will be held 9:00 am Monday June 19, 2006 from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick's Church.
