Sister M. Rosalette Janeczek, 95, a Felician Sisters for 77 years, died at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT on September 3. Sister Rosalette (Sophia) was one of seven children of the late John and Mary (Chwalek) Janeczek of Indian Orchard, MA. After completing her elementary education at immaculate Conception School there, she entered the juniorate of the Felician Sisters in Lodi, NJ. Sister entered the postulancy in 1932 there, was invested with the Franciscan habit in 1933, and made her first profession of vows in 1934. That same year, she was transferred to Our Lady of the Angels Province, Enfield, CT. In 1940, Sister Rosalette pronounced her perpetual vows. <br>Sister Rosalette ministered for more than 40 years as a teacher. In preparation for this work, she earned a bachelor's degree in education from Catholic Teacher's College, Providence, RI. She taught in the dioceses of Boston, MA, Fall River, MA, Hartford, CT, New York, NY and Springfield, MA. She was principal at Sacred Heart School, Easthampton, MA from 1968-1974. Before her retirement, she taught religious education in several parishes, and worked as a school aide. From 1995 to 2003 she served the community infirmary as an aide. Since 2003, she has been a patient in Holy Family Infirmary.<br>In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were two brothers: Rev. Thaddeus Janeczek and Joseph, and three sisters, Josephine, Anna Zachara and Stella Janeczek. She is survived by her sister Stephanie Posusky and devoted nieces.<br>Friends will be received at Our Lady of the Angels Provincial House, 1315 Enfield St., Enfield, from 2-4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 4. A wake service at 4:30 p.m. will include Evening Praise. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Commendation will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Felician Sisters Retirement Fund would be appreciated. Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT has been entrusted with arrangements.
