Stanley Brodtman

Stanley A. Brodtman, 95, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Thursday April 2, 2015 at Johnson Memorial Medical Center, Stafford Springs, CT. Stanley was the beloved husband of Marion (Light) Brodtman. He was born on February 5, 1920 in Manhattan, NY, son of the late Arnold and Syble (Ward) Brodtman. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Bridgeport. Stanley served his country honorably with the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II. Prior to retiring in 1985 Stanley was employed for 36 years with UTC. He was a 67 year member of the Free Mason’s, Aurora Grata – Day Star Lodge # 647, founder of Enrico Fermi Sports Boosters, served on the Board of Directors of Lake Shore Park in St. Petersburg, FL and Centurions Drum & Bugle Corps. Besides his wife Marion, Stanley is also survived by his children; Nancy Schneider (Ed) of Berlin, CT, Heidi Brodtman of Colchester, VT, and Timothy Brodtman (Joanne) of Laconia, NH, his beloved grandchildren; Jennifer Brodtman, Angela Brodtman, Karl Brodtman, Caitlin Schneider, Meghan Schneider and step-granddaughter Kylie Rogers, six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, along with a special daughter-in-law, Minie Brodtman of AZ and special cousin Marjorie Dyer and husband Brian of France. He was predeceased by his son J. Bradley Brodtman and a sister Sybil Becker. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Wednesday April 8, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. Services and Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorial donations in Stanley’s memory be made to the American Foundation for the Blind 2 Penn Plaza, Suite 1102 New York, NY 10121.
