Stanley Albert Sarno, of Enfield beloved husband of 58 years to Eileen (Turcotte) Sarno, entered into eternal life at the age of 86 surrounded by his loving family on Thursday Dec. 8, 2011 at Johnson Memorial Medical Center, Stafford Springs. He was born on July 6, 1925 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield beloved son of the late Stanley and Gaetana (Alfano) Sarno. Stanley served his country honorably with the U.S. Marine Corps during WW II. Stanley was employed with Bigelow Sanford, CT Water Co., W.T. Grant Warehouse and retired in 1990 after 12 years with the Enfield School System. A passion for music he was a talented piano and keyboard player, having played with various music groups in the area before going solo and entertained for all kinds of occasions. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Stanley was a member of the American Legion Tanguay Magill Post 80, Enfield, B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 2222, Enfield, St. Patrick’s Church and former Fire Commissioner for the North Thompsonville Fire Department in the early 60’s. Besides his wife, Eileen he is survived by his loving children Bruce Sarno, Diane Sarno, Robert Sarno and his wife Sharon all of Enfield and Mark Sarno of Suffield, his three beloved grandchildren Michael, Karen and Stacey, his devoted brother Silvio Sarno of Enfield along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, wonderful friends and neighbors. Stanley was predeceased by three brothers Rocco Rega, Armand and Louis Sarno. His family would like to Thank Dr. Darren O’Neil, his nurse Marge and the staff of S.M.A and the Enfield Adult Daycare for the attention and wonderful care given to Stanley. Relatives and friend may gather with his family during calling hours on Sunday (Dec. 11, 2011) from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday (Dec. 12, 2011) with the funeral procession forming at 9 am from the funeral home to St. Patrick’s Church for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery with military honors. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans P.O.
