Stanley Suleski, Sr.

Stanley "Stan" E. Suleski, Sr. 92, of Somers entered into eternal life on Thursday March 26, 2009. Stan was the beloved husband of Monica W. (Zukowski) Suleski. He was born on November 7, 1916 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Vincent (William) and Rose (Kulas) Suleski and had resided in Somers most of his life. Stan served his country honorably with the U.S. Army during WW II. After the service he worked at the Somersville Mill until its closing. He then worked for Troiano's Auto Center, Enfield as a filling station attendant for 42 years until his retirement in 1999. He was an active member of All Saints Church and served as an usher for over 60 years; he was also a member of the Holy Name Society and Nocturnal Adoration Society. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather his enjoyment in life was his family, playing cards and being the pitcher at the family softball games. Besides his wife, Monica of 62 years, he is survived by his children; Stanley E. Suleski, Jr. & his wife, Linda of Lexington, SC, Rosemary Gavello & her husband, Barry of Springfield, MA, John E. Suleski of Portsmouth, RI, Elizabeth A. White & her husband, Philip of Blythewood, SC, his six beloved grandchildren, Rick, Jeremy, Patricia, Jonathan, Duncan and Daniel and his great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Janet Ragno of Enfield. Stan's family would especially like to thank his caregiver, Kim Johannes for the wonderful and exceptional care given to Stan. <br>Funeral services in celebration of Stanley's life will be held on Tuesday March 31, 2009 with the funeral procession forming at 9:30 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield to All Saints Church, Somersville for a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial followed by interment with military honors in the Somers Center Cemetery, Somers. Stan's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday 30, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Felician Sisters Adult Daycare 1333 Enfield Street Enfield, CT 06082.
