Stephen Oski

Steven J. Oski, Jr., 77, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Baystate Franklin Medical Center. Born in Brattleboro, Vermont on October, 20, 1934, Stephen was the son of the late Stephen J. and Caroline O. (Amundsen) Oski. A longtime resident of Springfield, Stephen moved to Ludlow in 2001. He was employed for over thirty years as an inspector with Hamilton Sunstrand a division of United Technologies Corporation, retiring in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Joan E. (Voudrin) Oski; ten children, Lynn Marchand and her husband, Duane of East Longmeadow, MA, Terri-Ann Josefek of Ludlow, MA, Robert A. Oski and his wife, Donna of Enfield, CT, Michael S. Oski of Charlotte, NC, Kristine M. Quiterio and her husband, Edward of Ludlow, MA, Shawn M. Oski and his wife, Shannon of Springfield, MA, Jessica L. Germain and her husband, Brian of Ludlow, MA, Katherine E. Oski of Springfield, MA, Lisa M. Oski of Ludlow, MA and Amanda K. Oski of Ludlow, MA; his sister, Beverly Hinds of Chicopee, MA; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was also father to over four hundred foster children. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles S. Oski and Richard A. Oski. Stephen’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, February 10, 2012 beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Service of Remembrance at 11:00 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT 06082. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter, 2075 Silas Dean Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
