Virginia Stopa Obituary

Virginia (Cielakiewicz) Stopa, 84, of Enfield, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday March 14th, 2007 at Baystate Medical Center Springfield MA. Jinnie was born in Torrington, Ct May 27, 1922 the daughter of the late Louis and Clementine (Pentliski) Cielakiewicz and resided in Enfield for fifty five years. She was a graduate of Meriden High School and Laurel Business College. Jinnie was a devoted catholic and a long time member of St. Adalbert's Church Enfield. She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 154 Enfield, and the Polish Falcons. Jinnie was predeceased by her beloved husband Dr.Walter Stopa in 1976. She is survived by her beloved family a daughter Marilyn L. Stopa of Enfield, a son and daughter in-law Michael Stopa and Hiromi Hoshino of Holliston MA., and a daughter and son in-law Julie and Glenn Guthrie of Suffield. She also leaves five grandchildren Robin, Miranda, Kaileigh, and Kipling Stopa and Luke Guthrie, and one great grandson Mateo Guthrie, also many nieces and nephews.Virginia was predeceased by three sisters Rosemary Cielakiewicz, Dorothy C. Manecke, and Judith C. Curran. Funeral Services in celebration of Virginia's life will be held Monday, March 19th at 9:00AM from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Adalbert's Church, Enfield. Burial will be in St. Adalbert's Cemetery. Calling Hours are Sunday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at BROWNE MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPELS, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield (Exit 48 off RT 91 RT 220 East 1&1/4 miles).
