Retired Master Sergeant Walter “Buzzy” J. Boyle, of Enfield and Lancaster NH, entered into eternal life at the age of 84 on Thursday June 13, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield MA. He was born January 30, 1929 in Lancaster NH and was the son of the late Walter L. and Helen M. Boyle of Gilman VT where he grew up. Walter resided in Lancaster and most recently also maintained a local residence in Enfield. He was a Retired Master Sergeant with the US Air Force and Air National Guard and a highly decorated Bronze Star recipient, retiring after 36 years of honorable service. He was a lifetime member of Enfield chapter of AMVETS, American Legion and the VFW. Walter grew up in a musical family and enjoyed playing his guitars all of his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid sports fan of the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and the UCONN women’s and men’s teams. Walter also enjoyed his time at camp “Heaven” in Victory VT although his greatest pleasure came from time spent with his children, grandchildren and his special companion, his dog Chowder. Walter’s family would also like to extend, a special heartfelt thanks to Hyacinth Steadman for her love, and care she selfishly provided. Walter is survived by two loving daughters; Patricia Alvarez and her husband Sergio of Lawrence KS and Kathleen Arnold and her husband Mark of Enfield. Also, surviving are seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; David, Shannon, Eric, Kayla, Jordan, Justin (1), Justin (2), David Jr, Nicholas and Joshua. He is also survived by two sisters; Margaret Tardy and Helena Boyle along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Walter is predeceased by a daughter Helen Marie Boyle, sisters: Rita, Eugenia and Patricia, a brother Daniel, and godson Timothy. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Wednesday June 19, 2013 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday June 20, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church followed by military honors. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in New Hampshire.
