Wanda F. (Bladek) Ruggiero, 93, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt entered into eternal life peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2015. Wanda was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, John A. Ruggiero. She was born on June 12, 1922 in Enfield, CT, and was a lifelong Enfield resident. She was the daughter of the late Charles & Catherine (Tkacz) Bladek, and is survived by her sister Valeria Skowron, of Enfield, CT. She was predeceased by her sisters Anna Bladek, and Nelka Bladek. Wanda is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Fred Jezek of Tolland, her two granddaughters, Kimberly Rogers and her husband Nathan, and Amy Jezek, and two great- grandchildren, Jeremy MacDonough and Andrew Rogers, all of Tolland, CT. She also leaves behind a nephew, Paul Skowron and his wife Laurel of Wolfboro, NH and their children Jared Skowron & Nicole Kerr, and Kate & Justin Strzelecki, and their children. Wanda is also survived by her cousins in Bristol, and Alice Czyz of Suffield, her nephew Lou and his wife Kathy Ruggiero of Willington, CT, and niece Terri and her husband Dan Tripp of Deerfield, NH and their children and grandchildren. Wanda was always a doting grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a huge part of her granddaughter’s childhood, spending time with them in the garden, canning vegetables with them in the kitchen, shopping at the mall, watching Love-Boat and making grinders with them at midnight while watch Fantasy Island. She was a loving friend to Amelia & Ann, Hank & Jevan, Rose & Al, Josephine, Della & Burnham, Rita, Stacia, and Donna. She was always willing to help out her family and friends with whatever they needed, and encouraged her friends to stay active. She welcomed all into her home, where you never left empty handed. She was blessed with caring neighbors Rena & Dan, who provided nourishing dinners and cherished baked goods, and giving a helping hand when Wanda called upon them. Wanda’s family would like to extend a special thank you to her live-in-caregivers, especially Phedra & Kashia who have been so gracious and helpful throughout the last year in fulfilling her wishes of living at home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Wanda’s memory may be made to Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield, CT 06082. Relatives and friends may gather with Wanda’s family during calling hours on Tuesday Sept. 22, 2015 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield followed by a procession to Holy Family Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will then take place in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery in Enfield.
