Wanda Felicia Nowak, widow of Chester Nowak, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, June 17, 2010. She was a Parishioner of St. Adalbert Church. She was one of eleven children born in Adams, MA on December 6, 1911, and attended local schools. After her marriage at St. Stanislaus Church in Adams, MA she moved to Enfield, where she resided for 70 years. She is survived by her son, Dr. Richard Nowak and his wife Vera of South Windsor; a grandson Dr Eric Nowak of South Windsor; a son, Robert Nowak and his wife Nancy of West Suffield; a granddaughter Kristin Girald and her husband John Michael of Rye, NH; and a great-granddaughter Ally Girald of Rye, NH; a granddaughter Kelly Castor and her husband Aaron of East Windsor. She was predeceased by six siblings and is survived by her sister Irene Conley, and her brothers Joseph Uchman, Michael Uchman and Steven Uchman, along with many nieces and nephews. The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff at Suffield House for the diligent care they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to a charity of your choice. Relatives and friend may gather with her family during calling hours on Sunday (June 20, 2010) from 5 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday (June 21, 2010) with the funeral procession forming at 9 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Adalbert’s Church 90 Alden Ave. Enfield where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery in Enfield.
