Wesley Hogan Obituary

Wesley S. Hogan, 85, of Enfield, entered into his eternal rest on Friday February 22, 2008 at Rockville General Hospital. He was born on January 14, 1923 in Goshen, CT a son of the late Albert and Florence (Sterling) Hogan and had resided in Enfield for the past 25 years and previously in Litchfield and Torrington. He was a graduate of Litchfield High School. Wesley served his country honorably with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was formerly employed by American Brass of Torrington and retired from Anaconda Brass of Waterbury after many years of service. Wesley had a passion for history especially the Civil War era, he enjoyed traveling, gardening, time spent with family, watching UCONN Sports and loved animals. He was an active member of the Enfield Congregational Church. Wesley is survived by a brother, Harold Hogan of Scottsdale, AZ, a sister, Virginia Winans of Enfield and a brother, Arthur and his wife, Joanne of Venice, FL, his nieces and nephews, Kenneth Hogan of Torrington, Cynthia Boucher of Enfield, James Winans of Enfield, Kathleen Perrier of Ellington, Lorraine Larson of Springfield, MA, Keith Winans of Enfield, Arthur Hogan, Jr. of South Hadley, MA, Patrick Hogan of Enfield, Tamara Hogan of Sarasota, FL, and Jason Winans of Enfield 14 great nieces and nephews and 4 great-great nieces and nephews and several cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Allyn Hogan and his wife, Sophie, a sister-in-law, Josephine Hogan and a nephew, Allyn Hogan, Jr. Funeral services in celebration of Wesley's life will be held on Friday February 29, 2008 with a procession forming at 10am from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield to Enfield Congregational Church for a Funeral Service at 11:00am followed by interment with military honors in the Enfield Street Cemetery, Enfield. Wesley's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday February 28, from 4 to 8pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels.
