William "Bill" Kearney Obituary

William “Bill” H. Kearney of Enfield completed his earthly journey at the age of 71 on Saturday (February 12, 2011). He was the beloved husband of 44 years to Cecile M. (Sansone) Kearney and son of the late William H., Sr. and Geraldine (Harper) Kearney. William was born on December 24, 1939 in Meadville, Pennsylvania and had resided in Enfield for the past 42 years. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Navy. Bill received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. He began his career as a staff accountant at Arthur Andersen followed by employment at Emhart Corporation and retired from J M Ney in 1997. He then worked part time as a driver at Enterprise Rent-A-Car where he had many friends. In his leisure time Bill enjoyed gardening, reading and basketball. He was a coach to his girls and avid fan of the UCONN Huskies. Weekly golf outings with friends and family were a passion, but his greatest joy in life was spending summer vacations on Moosehead Lake in Maine with his family and traveling with his wife, Cecile. Besides his wife Cecile he is survived by his three loving daughters: Deborah L. Seymour and her husband Luke of Schwenksville, PA, Suzanne M. Wogelius and husband David of Farmington, CT and Jennifer A. St. George and husband Bill of Lewiston, ME; his five beloved grandchildren: Benjamin Seymour, Emily Wogelius, Kyle Wogelius, Aiden St. George and Connor St. George, along with his brother in-law and sister in-law, Ronald and Celeste Baer, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Wednesday (February 16, 2011) from 4:00 to 7:00pm followed by a Memorial Service with Deacon Ray McGivney officiating at 7:00 at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. Interment will be at the convenience of his family.
