William Lamont
William I. Lamont, 91, of Mauldin, SC and formerly of Enfield, CT entered peacefully into eternal life on Monday Oct. 12, 2009. William was predeceased by his loving wife, Helen (Bania) Lamont. He was born on August 18, 1918 in Springfield, MA son of the late John P. and Melvina (Gendron) Lamont and resided in Mauldin since 1971 and in Enfield before that. He was a graduate of Enfield High School Class of 1936 and then went onto serve his country honorably with the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II, and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement in 1983 William was employed by Bigelow Sanford Carpet Co. in Thompsonville, CT and Greenville, SC.<br>William was the loving father of Mary Jane Theriault of Mauldin, SC, Nancy Eltman and her husband, Joseph of Waterbury, CT and William J. Lamont of Mauldin, SC. Beloved grandfather to Jennifer Rose and her husband, Brad of Boston, MA and Joseph Eltman of Waterbury, CT, brother-in-law of Francis Bania of Somers, sisters-in-law, Jennie Kearns of Enfield and Charlotte Bania of CA and Uncle William to many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Roland and Jerome Lamont.<br>Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Wednesday Oct. 21, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. in St. Adlabert Church 90 Alden Ave. Enfield followed by interment with military honors in St. Adalbert's Cemetery in Enfield. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society 538 Preston Ave. P.O.
