William Prickett

William Prickett, 88, of Enfield entered into eternal rest on Sunday (Nov. 16, 2014) at Blair Manor in Enfield. William was born on March 7, 1926 in Danbury, CT, son of the late Roland P. and Lily M. (Robinson) Prickett. William attended grammar schools in Hampden, MA and graduated in 1944 from Technical High School in Springfield, MA. He then enlisted in the service and served his country proudly with the U.S. Army, in the tank destroyer division during WW II in the European Theatre. Prior to retiring in 1991 William was a designer for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for many years. He had a commercial pilot’s license and owned Parkwood Boat Co. He is survived by his sister Ellen P. Sawn, his nieces Carol S. Lorenzetti, and Charlene Dunaway, his nephews George W. Sawn, Jr. and Daniel Sawn, his grandnieces Julie Lorenzetti and Jacquelyn Sawn, his grandnephew Jonathan Sawn. He was predeceased by his sister Winifred Sawn. A visitation period will be held on Saturday (Nov. 22, 2014) from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, followed by the Funeral Service with Pastor Barry Andrusik officiating. Interment with military honors will take place in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Hampden, MA. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
