William E. Stone, Sr., 66, of Enfield, entered into eternal peace on Saturday Oct. 17, 2009 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA. William was the beloved husband of 44 years to Catherine (LaRosa) Stone and son of the late Ernest R. and Alma (Fortin) Stone and was a lifelong resident of Enfield. He was employed with the Town of Enfield Grounds and Maintenance Dept. for 34 years retiring in 2002 and was a school crossing guard after retirement. A dedicated and loving family man he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. Besides his loving wife, William was a loving father to William E. Jr. & Lisa Stone of Enfield, Paul & Carrie Stone of VT, Amy Stone of Enfield, Kim Stone & Chris Howell of Enfield, beloved grandfather to Georgine, David, Christopher, Tyler, Krysta, Alissa, Benjamin and Nicholas. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Shirley Stone of TN, Fred Stone of Enfield, Paul Stone of MA, Phyllis Stone of Rockville, Marion Willis and Linda Hebert both of Enfield, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Kessler and a brother, Ernest T. Stone. There are no calling hours. His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday Oct. 24, 2009 at 12:00 (Noon) at the Stone residence. Interment will be at the convenience of his family.
