Obituary
Deborah Morrin-Nordlund, 51, of College Park, MD, loving wife of Eric Nordlund, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 28, 2014 at Washington Adventist Hospital, Tacoma Park, MD, with her family at her side. Deborah was born November 24, 1962, and raised in Glastonbury, the daughter of Michael and Nancy (Bodner) Morrin. She resided in Glastonbury, attended and graduated from the Glastonbury school system, continued her education at Clark University, ultimately earning her Master's Degree from the University of Maryland, where she was the Assistant Director of the Marine Estuarine Environmental Sciences Graduate Program. Deborah received her First Communion from St. Paul Church in Glastonbury, along with being a parishioner of St Dunstan Church in Glastonbury. As she was very athletic, she held leadership positions at both the local and national levels of United States Masters Swimming. Along with her husband and parents, Deborah will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family, friends and co-workers. Loving in-laws Howard and Nanci Nordlund of Bloomfield Hills, MI, sister-in-law Inger Ferrene and her husband, Otto of Valencia, CA, and brother-in-law Hans Nordlund and his wife Arleen of Seattle, WA. Aunts and Uncles John J. and June Morrin of Wethersfield, James and Celia Morrin of Wakefield, RI, William and Nancy Morrin of Woodbury, Robert Morrin and wife Laurie Trager of Berlin, Ann T. Morrin and husband, John Felice of South Windsor, and Joyce (Bodner) Newbauer and her husband Joseph of East Hampton. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to family Friday, May 2 from 4-7 pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Deborah's life will be held Saturday, May 3rd at 10am in St. Dunstan Church. (All attendees are asked to proceed directly to the Church). Interment will follow the Mass in Holy Cross Cemetery, Wickham Road at Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in memory of Debbie Morrin-Nordlund are given to the University of Maryland's Marine Estuarine Environmental Sciences Graduate Program where Debbie worked tirelessly for over 17 years, helping thousands of students achieve their educational goals.
