Denise Lackey Obituary

Denise T. Lackey of East Hartford, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 4, 2014. Born on August 24, 1950, Denise was the daughter of the late David H. and Rose Elizabeth (Cooper) Lackey. After 35 years of dedicated teaching in the Hartford Public Schools, Denise retired in 2009. Many of her former students and their parents whose lives she touched remained in contact with her throughout the years. Denise is survived by her sister, Deborah Cormier of Vernon, her brother-in0law Emery Cormier of Vernon, her nephews, David Lackey of Glastonbury and Sean Cormier of Florida, her niece Stacy Daigle and her husband Jerry Daigle of Glastonbury, her great-nieces Alexi and Kayla Daigle of Glastonbury, and Rose Lackey of Glastonbury, as well as Diane (sister by choice) and Ernest Francis who were her dearest friends and extended family. She was predeceased by another close friend, Mildred Brink of Rotunda Beach FL. Denise would want to acknowledge and thank Dr. Cara Riddle for her attentive, professional and compassionate care. Family and friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 am, Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave., Glastonbury, or directly to church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held October 9, 2014 at 10:00 am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St. Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Ave. Hartford. In lieu of flowers, Denise had requested that contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis TN 38105.
