Mr. Carroll L. Fischer Korean War Veteran LITCHFIELD - Carroll L. Fischer, 81, died peacefully after a long illness on April 29, 2013. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy L. Fischer. Carroll was born August 5, 1931, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Ernest and Lillian Fisher. He was a member of American Legion Post 27, where he served as a Finance Officer. His love of family and friends was his passion for life. He is survived by six children and their families, James C. and Peggy Fischer of Eau Claire, Wis., Christopher S. and Lisa Fischer of Warren, Robert V. Fischer, Janice E. Smith, Edward A. and Kim Fischer and Kevin A. and Andeen Fischer all of Litchfield. In addition, five brothers, Ernest Fischer of Georgia, Frank Fisher of Litchfield, Ward Fischer of Missouri, Bradford Fisher of New Milford, William Fischer of Harwinton, and Noel Fisher of Litchfield, two sisters, Sara Lee Fischer of Litchfield and Rita Williams of Enfield, 23 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda D. Fischer, one brother, Keith Fischer of Warren and two sisters, Grace Litke of South Carolina, and Marilyn Buerkle of Prospect. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 3, at Milton Congregational Church, 548 Milton Road, Milton. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Milton Congregational Church. The Fischer Family would like to thank the staff at Rose Haven for their loving care of Carroll.
