In loving memory of Fawaz "Frank" Olaby Nov. 28, 1928-July 8, 2017 who is survived by his wife, Laila Olaby. Both were born and married in Rushaya, Lebanon. Frank immigrated to the US in 1969 with his wife and four children. He was a dedicated, hard working man, committed to providing for his family. Frank located his family in Des Moines, Iowa where Laila's father, Mahmoud Dagher, had set up residence after enlisting with the US army and fighting in WWII. Frank retired as a mechanic and relocated to Meriden, CT where he and his wife set up a grocery store business called Olaby's Market which was a staple in the community for over fifteen years. Frank loved riding motorcycles, was lauded as a "great mechanic" and also loved police, especially the Meriden police department of which his grandson, Robii Abouchacra, is currently a sergeant. He is survived by his four children Samira Olaby, Assad "Ed" Olaby, Bassam Olaby and Ibtissam "Sue" Olaby, 11 grandchildren and two great grand children. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. May he find comfort in the hands of angels. May he Rest In Peace.
