John C. Swiatek, 91, husband of Yvonne (Ernst) Swiatek died on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Apple Rehab Coccomo. Born in New Britain, Connecticut on August 12, 1926, he was the son of the late Frank and Edith (Ulbrich) Swiatek. He was a life-long resident of Meriden. Mr. Swiatek was employed by International Silver Company before working at Canberra Industries. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Military Police while stationed in Panama. He enjoyed woodworking, big band jazz and golfing. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Mucci and her husband Nicholas of Meriden; two sons, Peter Swiatek and his partner Virgil Graham of Coral Springs, FL and John Swiatek and his wife Virginia of Bristol, CT; three grandchildren, Matthew Mucci, Christopher Mucci and Shawn Morytko; and one brother, Frank Swiatek and his wife Lyn of Rockville, CT. He is also survived by one niece and one nephew. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Swiatek. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT, 06450. Entombment with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Friends and relatives are invited to call prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
