Josephine Koncki

Josephine D'Auria Koncki, 89, wife of 66 years to the late Stanley E. Koncki passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at her home. Born on December 26, 1927 in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Raffaele and Fortunata (Mastronardi) D'Auria. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. Proud of her many jobs, especially Banking Officer at Colonial Bank and Wallingford Flower Shop. She loved to bowl, golf and travel with her husband, but was especially known for her jams and for canning a wide variety of homegrown fruit. She enjoyed knitting and cross stitch, and her love of family and friends was shown in the many gatherings she held. She was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Angels of Meriden, and a member of the Meriden Intermediates and the Ladies of the Mt. Carmel Society. Josephine is survived by her son, David Koncki and wife Sharron Gifford; daughter, Cynthia Marlowe and husband Paul Marlowe; grandchildren, Jessica Marlowe (Evelyn Ciaburri), Rebecca Marlowe (Stephen Cerasoli), Natalie Koncki (Kenrick Liu), and Zachary Koncki (Lauren Kappleman); great-grandson, Maxwell Liu, sister, Rose Prizzi; sister-in-law, Rose D'Auria and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, Rinaldo D'Auria, Carmelina McDonald, Lucia Coppola, Angela D'Auria and Ralph D'Auria. The funeral will be held on Monday, October 9th at 10:30 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450 and at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to Mass on Monday, October 9th from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Mt.
