Kelly Ayala Obituary

Kelly Ayala, 52, loving wife of Jehiel Ayala passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Midstate Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Meriden on March 13, 1965, she was the daughter of the late Daryl Gillespie and Mavis (Sharp) McConnell. She resided in Meriden her entire life and had graduated from Orville H. Platt High School. Mrs. Ayala was employed by Westfield Care and Rehab Center for over twenty-four years. She was a member of South Meriden United Methodist Church. Kelly enjoyed cooking for her family and doing arts and crafts with her grandchildren. Besides her husband, Kelly is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amie Ayala and Gary Fusco; her son, Jehiel Ayala Jr; four grandchildren, Alexis Fusco, Madison Fusco, Ian Fusco and Kinkei Swan; one sister, Tracy Gillespie Abata; one brother, Darin Gillespie; two brothers-in-law, Tommy Ayala and Efrem Ayala and her nieces and nephews, Krystal Mooneyhan, Justine Ayala, Thomas Ayala, Jade Ayala, Sayuri Ayala, Jillian Ayala and Zach Gillespie. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Luz Gonzalez. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Thomas and Avis Sharp. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017at 10 a.m. at South Meriden Trinity United Methodist Church, 145 Main St., South Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450 on Wednesday, June 28th from 5 to 8 p.m.
