Norma Meyers

Norma M. Meyers, wife of 70 years to the late William H. Meyers, died peacefully at age 93 on October 7, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Meriden to William and Frances Dahler on May 25, 1924. Norma lived a devoted Catholic life with a strong faith in God and was a parishioner at St. Joseph Church. Throughout her life, Norma enjoyed card games and was the happiest when surrounded by family and friends. An artist most well-known for her water color paintings, she began painting in her 40s and spent many years enjoying her craft. She enjoyed many summers in Clinton with her whole family and many winters in Florida with her husband. She loved the beach. Norma was an active member of the Red Hat Society as well as a member of her family quilting club, the Silver Dahlers, for more than two decades. She spent her last years well cared for at the Bradley Home surrounded by many of her loyal friends. She was the most kind, loving, thoughtful and compassionate person you would ever want to meet. She is survived by her eight children, Mary, Bill (Marilyn), Kathy (Thomas), Patty, Beth (Patrick), Laura, Bob and Teri (Lou); 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Ruth Lyons and Elizabeth Uryase and her infant granddaughter, Christine Meyers. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish, St. Joseph Campus. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06489, on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. Mrs. Meyers’ family would like to thank the staff at the Bradley Home for their outstanding care.
