Norman Thompson Obituary

Norman J.A. Thompson, 78, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the V.A. Hospital in West Haven. He grew up in Cheshire, the youngest child of Lincoln and Anna Thompson. He served in the U.S. Navy in the early 60’s on the aircraft carrier the “Coral Sea” in the Pacific Theater. He finished his education at Boston University and spent many years working in the accounting field in various departments of the U.S. Government in Washington D.C. and Connecticut. He has worked at Masonicare in Wallingford for the past few years. He made his home in Cheshire and most recently in Meriden where he was very active in Center Congregational Church. He loved that church and put his heart and soul into it. The members of the church have been so supportive of him. The family is most grateful. He is survived by his brother, Lincoln; three nephews; two nieces; four grand-nephews; five grand-nieces and one great grand-nephew. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Tuesday, September 26th at 11 a.m. at Center Congregational Church, 475 Broad Street, Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Center Congregational Church.
