Alma LaVoie Milford, Connecticut Obituary

Alma LaVoie

Alma Kay LaVoie, 73, of Milford, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Milford Hospital. Born in Yonkers, N.Y. and a long-time Milford resident, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Mabel (Kay) Barnes. She was also predeceased by her husband, Norman F. LaVoie. Alma was a positive, loving person who always wore a smile and had a kind word for everyone. She volunteered as a home health care aide for a number of years before retiring, but she loved to keep busy. She most enjoyed being with her family and friends, walking along the beach, and endlessly doting on her grandchildren, who adored her. All of our lives were that much better because of Alma and her love, friendship and support. She is sadly missed by her children, Craig and Lori Lee of Clinton, Scott and Lisa Lee of Westport and Christopher and Amy Lee of Ashburn, Virginia; her step-children, Dan LaVoie of Oregon, Larry LaVoie of Kansas, Michael LaVoie of Shelton, Susan Griffith of Milford and David LaVoie of California, as well as 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A Prayer Service for Alma will be Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:30 am at Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., in Milford. Calling hours will be from 9:00 am, until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made at www.autismspeaks.org.
