Almira Salomonsen

Almira Lucretia Salomonsen, age 91, of Trumbull, formerly of Milford, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in Bridgeport Hospital. She was born on January 6, 1925 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late George and Mable Snyder Lang. Before retiring, she was a secretary for Engineered Metal Products. An active member of the community, she was a member of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. A beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by her dedicated daughter Carla Klein of Easton and grandchildren Kristen Chiodo and her husband Charles of Trumbull and Eric Klein and his wife Allison of Birmingham, MI and five great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her devoted husband Roy E Salomonsen. Calling hours are Friday, December 30, 2016 from 11am to noon with a funeral service after the visitation at noon at Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Shriner Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
