Angelo Joseph Ferrigno, age 74, of Milford , passed away in his home peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, September 29, 2013. He was the beloved husband for 52 years of Patricia Garrity Ferrigno. Angelo was born on August 20, 1939 in Bridgeport, son of the late Guiseppe and Theresa (Pacifico) Ferrigno. He grew up in Bridgeport and moved to Milford in 1972. Angelo worked and was a member of Roofers Local 12 for 43 years. He loved and took great pride working in his yard, enjoying the outside, sitting with his family and friends to eat and talk of good times. Angelo fought a long and courageous battle for over three years and never once complained. He was more concerned about his family and friends than himself. Besides his wife Pat, he leaves his sons whom he loved, Ricky A. Ferrigno of Milford and Robert E. Ferrigno of Madison, and couldn’t be loved more by them and the wonderful care they gave him, especially in the lasts two weeks, Roberts companion Sue Tierney whom he loved like a daughter and also cared for him, his grandson Jason O’Connor and companion Gwen, who were with him every day his last week and loved his “Gramp” growing up, his granddaughter Melissa Hart whose visits he enjoyed, the light of his life, his great grandson Lucas O’Connor, “Papa’s little guy who always put a huge smile on his face, his brother Anthony and wife Fran of Trumbull, sisters Martha Roma of Fairfield, Lena Crawford of Arizona, sister and brother -in-laws Maureen and Howard Keiser, Ernest B. Garrity and Kelly Wallace, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were with him, especially in past weeks. In addition to his parents , he was predeceased by his infant son Randy James Ferrigno, brother Paul E. Ferrigno, nephew Thomas Roma, and brother-in-law Steve Roma. The family would like to thank Masonicare Home Health and Hospice for their compassion and wonderful care. Calling hours are Wednesday October 2, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St. , Milford . Funeral Thursday, leaving the funeral home at 10:00 am for Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel’s Church at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in St. Michaels cemetery Stratford.
