Augustine Rose Merola, age 95, of Bridgeport, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 in Milford Hospital. She was born on April 13, 1920 in Bridgeport to the late Ralph and Rose Manjoney Malafronte. A devoted wife and mother, she enjoyed bowling, bingo and her favorite cat “Kitty Boy”. She will be remembered as a “Scouter’s Widow”. Mrs. Merola is survived by her dedicated children Marilyn Reilly (John) of Derby and Thomas Merola (Nina) of Stratford. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Thomas Merola and sisters Adelaide Tenney and Rose Filakovsky. Calling hours are Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 9 to 11am at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A funeral service will be held at 11am with Deacon R. Sennett in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Bridgeport.
