Barbara Lou House , age 89, formerly of Milford, died on Thursday February 27, 2014 in Nesconset, N.Y. She had resided in Port Jefferson, NY, for the past 39 years. She was born on August 11, 1924, in Torrington, CT., to the late Oscar and Helen Root Widinghoff. She is survived by a brother Richard Widinghoff of Milford, a sister Margery Haytock Raper of West Gardiner, ME, step-daughter Apryl Cox of Utah , step-son Field House of Florida, a niece Lynn Nastasia of Milford, a niece Ginny Kabe of Clinton, a niece Joyce Corey of West Gardiner, Maine, a niece Leigh Erlacher of Gainsville,Georgia, and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband Leslie House and second husband William House, a son David, and a nephew John. She loved her cat, Lucky, who has found a new home. She enjoyed bowling twice a week on a league in Port Jefferson, NY and had many friends there. She enjoyed playing the organ and dancing. All services and interment will be private.
