Bertha DiGioia, age 91, of Milford, and formerly of Bronx, NY, beloved wife of the late Gabriel DiGioia, passed away on Tuesday December 17, 2013 in Golden Hill Health Care Center. Bertha was a member and volunteer at the Milford Senior Center, during WWII, she worked at an ammunition factory. In recent years, Bertha was a homemaker and wanted nothing more than to spend time with her family. She is survived by her son Nicholas DiGioia Sr. and his wife Maria of Milford, grandchildren William Castagnozzi Jr. and his wife Barbara, Tammy Granata, Lisa Smith and husband Quentin, Gabriel DiGioia, Nicholas DiGioia Jr. and his wife Kelley, Matthew DiGioia and five great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her daughter Lorraine Castagnozzi. A wake will be held Thursday December 19th at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral home prayer service will be held Friday at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery Milford.
