Bessie “Bess” Solomon Diamond, age 87, of Lauderhill, FL, formerly of Milford, passed away in her home on Tuesday, June 8, 2010. She was born on November 22, 1922 in New Haven to the late Louis and Lena Brown Solomon. Before retiring, she was a dedicated member of the staff of Diamond Hardware and a member of the Milford Senior Center. Mrs. Diamond is survived by her devoted husband Harry Diamond, children Dr. Martin Diamond of Davies, FL and Lynn Pimenta of West Palm Beach, FL, brother Morris Solomon of Tamarac, FL, sister Shirley Kroop of New Haven, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by brothers David, Sid and Joseph and sisters Rosie and Anna. Calling hours are Saturday, June 12, 2010, from 4 to 8pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. Interment will be on Sunday, June 13th at 11am in Or Shalom Cemetery in West Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Virginia’s Country Manor, 8140 NW 47th Court, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33351.
