Catherine U. Merwin, age 89, of Milford passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2009 in Milford Hospital. She was born on November 19, 1919 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Peter and Stella Serafine Uliano. A dedicated wife and homemaker, she is predeceased by her loving husband Carlton Merwin and a brother Val Scolese. She is survived by her life long friends: June Zweeres, Frank Zielinski, Kathy and Brian Bombardier, Lynn and Mark Bernard and Jenna, Tyler, Roger and Raymond all of Milford. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 in Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven at 10:30am. Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford is handling the arrangements.
