Charles Neilson Nichols, age 81, of Milford, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011 in Milford Hospital. He was born on September 17, 1929 in Augusta, ME to the late Charles Nelson and Flora Bevans Nichols. Charles was the beloved husband of Louise Bevilacqua Nichols for 61 years. He served proudly in the Army National Guard and was employed by Stop and Shop as a manager for over 30 years. Besides his wife, he is also survived by his devoted daughters Sharon Nichols Fedor and her husband William and Deborah Nichols Dunleavey and her husband Mark of Milford, grandchildren Michael Charles Rapuano and his wife Nina of East Haddam, Nicholas Fedor, Paul Fedor and his wife Jessica all of Milford, Patrick Dunleavey and his wife Danielle of Trumbull and Philip Dunleavey of Florida, great grandchildren Skyler Anne Rapuano and Michael Philip Rapuano of East Haddam and Zachary Dunleavey of Trumbull, sister Myrtle Ransdell and husband Charles of West Chester, OH, brother-in-law George Bevilacqua and his wife Margaretta of Milford and sister-in-law Cora Nichols of Oxford, several nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers William, Howard and Richard Nichols. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 4 to 8pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 1st at 10am at the funeral home.
