Cheryl Banks Obituary

Beloved mother, Cheryl Nickerson Banks, age 65 of Eastham MA, formerly a longtime resident of Milford, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011, peacefully at her home surrounded by her children. She was born on April 29, 1946 to the late Nathan A. Nickerson Jr. and Helen E. Nickerson Becker. Before retiring, Cheryl spent over 20 years as an Air Traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration. She will be remembered as a treasured mother, wife, sister and friend along with being a fabulous cook. A very selfless and generous person, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting blankets for anyone whom was expecting a baby. Cheryl is survived by her devoted daughters Heather L. Banks and Rebecca C. Banks both of Eastham, MA, stepson Ty D. Banks of San Jose, CA, brother Nathan A. Nickerson III, niece Hayley Nickerson, nephew Andy Nickerson all of Eastham, MA, nephew Shawn Simpson of Kingston, MA, five grandchildren and yaya’s Barbara Smith, Kay Walsh, Judy Clisby, Judith Peters and Bonnie Cahill. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her loving husband, of 41 years, Harold D. Banks and brother Richard Nickerson. Calling hours are Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 5 to 8pm at the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldridge Parkway, Orleans, MA 02653. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 6th at 11am at the Brewster Baptist Church, 1848 Main St., Brewster, MA 07631. Interment will be private.
