Claire M. Garitta, age 87, of Milford, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2011 in Milford Hospital. She was born on March 18, 1923 in New Haven to the late Nicola and Rose Antenucci Crocco. A devoted wife and mother, she was employed by Hyke Metals Co. in the quality control department. Mrs. Garitta is survived by her loving children Anthony Garitta Jr. and Diana Ruocco both of Milford, five grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Beside her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Anthony Garitta, Sr. Calling hours are Monday, February 14, 2011 from 9 to 10am at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am following the calling hours at St. Mary’s Church, Gulf St., Milford. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
